One of Scotland’s most exciting fashion designers launches an exquisite autumn and Winter 2012 collection in Glasgow city center at the Corinthian Club on Wednesday evening March 21. Lauded by Vogue as “One to Watch”, Iona is renowned for her innovative and intricate garment structure.
Iona’s original paintings, inspired by native Scotland’s natural beauty, form the basis of an avant-garde, yet wearable look epitomised by earthy and tonal fabrics including cashmere, wool, tweed and leather as well as hand-knitted pieces and most recently tartan.
As an accomplished artist, Iona fuses a love for the outdoors with refined silhouette, bespoke self-designed prints, meticulous cloth selection and masculine tailoring influences to create an inimitable collection of Timeless Elegance.
This season Iona has embarked upon a unique collaboration with Clan Italia leading to a new range of bespoke, contemporary tartan garments which will make their Wednesday catwalk debut alongside her trademark prints.
It was announced recently that Rio Home Fashions, a North American industry leader in basic bedding, memory foam products, memory foam mattresses, and home textiles has signed a licensing partnership to launch the Iona Crawford, Art of Living Collection.
The venture, crafted by New York-based fashion brokers, Prince of Scots, will merge technology and fashion for the first time to create a harmonious lifestyle for the home. The Collection will be available in North America and Asia from autumn 2012.
The products will receive an infusion of fashion from Iona Crawford’s vision of design and colour, which will transform basic product into lifestyle collections with more function for the home. What was in the past an additional purchase will now become a primary object of desire. The exclusive new line will be the first fashion venture of this scope into the home linens business.
