How to Make the Ultimate Mint Julep? 5 Derby Cocktails We Love!

Some say the mint julep was a medicinal drink enjoyed in the morning hours while others claim the mint julep was the cocktail of choice of the privilege classes which originated in the 18th Century.

The Best of American Style: Prince of Scots Mint Julep Cup

Kentucky's US Senator Henry Clay's original recipe was introduced in Washington DC at the Round Robin Bar which soon became a bipartisan favorite.  The wonderful refreshing Mint Julep cocktail is very popular year round among Southern Social Elites of Charleston, Savannah, Lexington, and Louisville which is home to the Kentucky Derby.

While the phrase "Derby Day" may have little meaning to some, lovers of horse racing all over the country thrill at the mention of these words as the Kentucky Derby is the World's Most Important Horse Race.

The actual Kentucky Derby may only last a few minutes, but the entire event is a day-long festivity. Start planning your parties and celebrations now with the Perfect Cocktail and the Perfect Mint Julep Cup.
