Cloud Dancer: Living the Trend Before It Had a Name
Winter arrives in soft shades of white. Prince of Scots turns them into a way of life.

On a quiet snow–fallen evening, the world outside our doors softened to shades of warm white. Fresh snow settled over the slate roof of our historic 1926 home, the brick shimmered in the glow of lantern light, and the shutters framed each window like ink on parchment. A color story emerged that felt both modern and timeless.
Today the design world calls this palette Cloud Dancer. At Prince of Scots, it has simply been the backdrop of our lives – and the inspiration behind the throws we design and the lifestyle we share.
Luxury Cashmere Throw

What Is Cloud Dancer?
Cloud Dancer is more than “white.” It is a soft, nuanced white with depth – neither stark nor sterile. It is the quiet light of winter captured in a single tone.
Think of Cloud Dancer as:
- first snowfall on aged stone and slate,
- candlelight glowing behind frosted windowpanes,
- wool blankets stacked like gentle winter clouds,
- historic architecture washed in moonlight.
It is a color, yes – but more truthfully, it is a feeling.
The Throw That Matches the Snow
Our Thistle Reign Reversible Throw translates this winter palette into luxurious merino wool. Warm oatmeal, soft stone, feather–white, and pale oyster tones are woven together in a fluid motif of thistles, ribbons, and equestrian rings – an ode to British heritage with a modern, neutral twist.

Outside, the world rests in Cloud Dancer snow. Inside, Thistle Reign mirrors that calm: whisper–soft, quietly elegant, and invitingly warm.
Nature set the palette.
Prince of Scots made it tactile.
Living the Trend Before It Was Named
Trendsetters don’t chase direction – they simply live slightly ahead of it. Long before Cloud Dancer appeared on color forecasts, our winter scenes were already written in this language of soft whites and gentle neutrals: snow–washed brick, frost–tipped cedars, glowing windows, and brushed merino wool draped over armchairs and end–of–bed footboards.
When Pantone gave this mood a name, it simply confirmed what our photographs and textiles had already captured: Prince of Scots has been living in Cloud Dancer all along.

As winter light shifts across snow, Cloud Dancer moves in gradients — not pure white alone, but tone-on-tone shadows, soft morning fog, and pale silver dusk.
This natural transition is mirrored beautifully in our Whisper Ombre Fog throw.

Where Thistle Reign reflects the architectural whites and historic calm of our exterior, Whisper Fog brings the atmosphere of Cloud Dancer indoors — subtle, fluid, and modern.
Imagine:
• The sky before snowfall
• Mist over winter fields
• A white that moves — instead of sitting still
Whisper Ombre Fog embodies Cloud Dancer not as a solid color, but as a breath. A fade. A whisper.
Woven in the United Kingdom from Australian Merino wool, its cascading gradient moves like shifting winter light — from feather-grey to pearl to pale smoke. It layers effortlessly with stone fireplaces, linen bedding, and ivory upholstery. It is the soft-spoken dimension to Cloud Dancer’s purity.
If Thistle Reign is winter snow,
Whisper Ombre Fog is the air that carries it.
Soft neutrals, brushed texture, clouded elegance — the palette expands beyond white into movement, shadow, and depth. Cloud Dancer becomes a collection.
And Prince of Scots, once again, is already ahead of it.
Cloud Dancer isn’t a color — it’s a mood, a season, and now a collection.
