While everyone loves the Hamptons Chic Beach lifestyle, the fall and winter months can be quit an adventure as well. One of Long Islands Best Kept Secrets is the migration of seals to the shores once the waters begin to cool. Sightings were once rather rare but over the last 16 years there has been a dramatic increase in seal populations coming to Long Island Beaches. Obviously, our sea friends enjoy our simple but elegant Hampton Lifestyle as well.
Make plans for a winter trip and enjoy the beach from a different point of view. Seals can be spotted from West Hampton all the way to Montauk. One of your favorite spots has been Girard’s Point in the Springs of East Hampton. Virtually deserted in the winter, the location is perfect for families of seals to come bask in the winter’s sun. A winters drive in the county can shake off those winters blue
The Coastal Research and Eduction Society of Long Island (CRESLI) offers a schedule of of walking tours all winter long. the tours continue through April 28th, 2019. So grab a warm coat and get ready to walk the beach. We love CRESLI and think you will too.
CRESLI’s Seal Walk Schedule is available at www.cresli.org or you may see the dates and times below. All dates are wether permitting of course. Visit cresli.org
